This week Rush Limbaugh stated that if the Health Care Reform Bill passes, he’s going to leave this country!
For me, this is further incentive to pressure our legislators to PASS THE BILL.
Rush’s patriotic decision to move could lessen our future health care costs. Mr. Limbaugh is an overweight smoker who flies into rages. Not a tranquil guy at all. He would be considered high risk for future health issues, potentially expensive for this country.
But wait, he’s moving to Costa Rica! Where I heard they have socialized medicine (?).
But anyway—Thanks, Rush. You’re taking my mantra to heart: DEMOCRACY—LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT!
I usually don’t engage in political or religious discussions…they seem to always become hostile…but I have to reply on this one.
Rush, if you don’t like the bill being passed, then leave…but don’t cry about it…nobody wants to listen to another adult person complain about their problems.
If I don’t get my way I’m gonna leave you all…then good, shut the *#@% up and leave already…I got better things to do then listen to your complaints…you have millions & millions of dollars, some people in this country have no job or home, some people in other countries have no food or water or freedom…and you’re gonna complain because a few million hard working Americans may get some free needed care when they need it…you ungrateful Bastard.
you want some cheese with that wine you fruity pill-head?
Well, FO, it looks like you’ve got another dedicated socialist on the forum. And sorry to break this to you, but Rush is not leaving - I heard the show when he said it and he was clearly being sarcastic (as he often is when trying to make a point). Furthermore, may I point out that HEALTHCARE IS NOT A RIGHT! If a person is too lazy to work, he shouldn’t be eating, let alone getting free health care.
and you're gonna complain because a few million hard working Americans may get some free needed care when they need it
The “free” healthcare you’re talking about is being paid for by the few of us that are still productive in this country. There is nothing “free” about it.
I don’t follow politics at all…can one of you please tell me the defintion of a socialist…
I don’t care one way or another if the guy leaves…“nobody knows anything about themselves, cause they’re all worried about everybody else.” -Jack Johnson.
Could care less if he stays or leaves, I just don’t enjoy people publibly complaining and whining, things will play out the way they play out, so stop crying about it…if that makes me a spocialist then so be it…but I still dont know what one is, nor do I really care.
Why is healthcare not a right?..because you say it is not a right?
“The “free” healthcare you’re talking about is being paid for by the few of us that are still productive in this country.”…
Well, if that is the case, then that is the case…but don’t complain to me about it…complaining is a symptom of negativity.
Just proves yet again where Furnished gets this liberal only “news”.First,Rush quit smoking a few years back.Second,he’s thinner and in better shape now than in years , thanks to a diet plan.Third,he said he would go to costa rica for his healthcare(which he would pay cash for)because of the fraction of the cost it is here. And after "Obamacare"you will be able to go to a number of other countries to get better care at less cost.
But just keep beleiving the same BS that all people are good and won’t abuse this new entitlement that will further cripple us.It works so well in Costa Rica because it is one of the few things govt "taxes"for. Here we already are taxed, double taxed, and more .And you propose more??Tune away from the mainstream media (govt directed info) and you may be surprised at what’s really happening.
I’m gathering some of you gained this info from yahoo,or some other controled page.It is always funny to see negative stuff like this up nearly all day.But if it’s about the great Obama or his communist panel it’s off there in ten minutes flat.Chevez or Red China has nothing on this administration, and some of you are fallinig for it hook, line, and sinker. :shocked
I don’t have any issues with paying for Rushs’ healthcare if he needs it…one man should take care of another.
the basis of life is freedom…the purpose of life is joy…and the result of life is growth.
We should all be free…we should all be happy with what we have and what we can offer to others…and we should all grow and learn and realize that these issues that are presented in front of us in these turmoil times have been in existence since the first man (and woman) was put on this earth…
these times are nothing new…we are not special…how we take care of ourselves and ourloves ones is most important to me.
I don't have any issues with paying for Rushs' healthcare if he needs it...one man should take care of another.
RIDICULOUS! Rush doesn’t need for me to pay for his healthcare and he wouldn’t ask. When Rush had a recent bout of chest pain, he paid cash for his stay at the hospital.
It is not my moral or legal responsibility to pay for healthcare, food, housing, or anything else for the tens of millions of lazy deadbeats we have in this country. If they are too lazy to work, then they should have the freedom to starve quietly under a bridge somewhere.
The article I read had a picture of a be-jowled Rushman with a giant stogie clamped in his teeth. That’s why I labeled him as an overweight smoker, sellnbama. Maybe it was an old picture, oh well.
propertymanager, Yes, health care IS a basic human right. No, we don’t like to watch our neighbor bleeding to death at the side of the road. Or lying in front of the ER door, untreated. We are no longer cavemen.
Frankly, I don’t understand how any person professing to be religious could vote against health care. All religions have a basic tenet of caring for the neediest.
A civilized society is judged on how it takes care of its most weak, poor, and sick. We should always strive to become more civilized and caring, not less. Those who can should pay for their own health care, with a little bit extra thrown in the pot for those who can’t.
The extra money in the pot should NOT be for the fat cat Health Insurance CEO’s, with their Million $ plus salaries and perks. Those guys are blood suckers. Guess who’s paying for all those expensive anti-health care bill ads on TV!? My health insurance premium dollars and yours.
This is why we need a government option health care plan as well. Medicare is working, isn’t it? I don’t hear anyone screaming about getting rid of Medicare.
Let’s get on it and get it done. Pass the Health Care Bill that everyone has been working on for months. And if Rush needs it, I’ll fly down to Florida and help him pack.
No one ever took care of me…I made my way in this world with nothing more than a few kicks in the a$$ from my old man…I disagree with these handouts and I disagree with everything that the current administration stands for…Anyone who has never experienced socialized medicine should go to a country that has it…You will quickly realize that its not for you…Many people come to our country for our health care because we dont have socialized medicine…
Many posters on this site confuse me very much…Are you capitalists and if you are how could you possibly be for the current administration???..
rookie,
I have lived under socialized medicine in Denmark, Switzerland, Germany, Israel and Japan. In each of those countries care was inexpensive, available and adequate.
My family and I had no complaints. There were differences, like the lack of privacy and under medication for pain in Japan, but basic health care was there.
That is what is NOT here. Where poverty-stricken 16-year-old Moms are dumped out of the birthing wards before they are even able to nurse their infants. Human milk comes in on about the 3rd day postpartum, Moms and babies are discharged after 24-48 hours because IT KEEPS THE COST DOWN. Never mind that our infant death rate is horrible. This is just one example and it absolutely makes my blood boil.
I agree that this country excels in complicated, state-of-the-art surgery, heart and cancer care. This country DOES NOT EXCEL in meeting basic needs of infants, children, mothers, and the elderly.
Yes, I am a Capitalist. Trying to get ahead. But not by standing on the backs of others.
I will continue to vote for any party/candidates that try to better health care. This administration is working to do that. For the first time, it’s not just lip service. How can we allow them to fail yet again?
Since this is a discussion on health care and “free medicine”, I’ll give my two cents. I’m seeing an ever increasing population of drug and alcohol addicts in their 20’s and 30’s coming to into the LTAC hospital where I work as a respiratory therapist. These people range from US born deadbeats to hispanic. These people have no job or healthcare and almost always come to us in respiratory failure and on a ventilator (respirator). The daily ventilator charge for 1 day is $900! These people often are with us for a few months at a time. We get them breathing ontheir own again, discharge them but see them back within 6 months to a year with the same issues. Then you have the long term “lifers” where they are ventilator dependendent with nowhere to go. So we keep them or transfer them to a long term care facility (which charges $380/day for a ventilator charge). They also run up a bill with expensive meds, dialysis and Physical and occupational therapy. I don’t know the charge for those, but just one person on a ventilator for 1 year totals abput $365,000. That’s not included the other stuff. This is all getting paid by Social security/medicare/medicaid… One last point, when a person comes to us with actual health insurance, the healthcare company outs a cap on the amount they’ll pay an LTAC, where the medicaid is an endless supply… Sorry Propertymanager, I hope this little tidbit doesn’t give you a hear attack, but it is frustrating to watch.

FurnishedOwner,
Im not trying to sound condescending or arrogant when I say this, and I have no reason to disrespect your beliefs…But being a capitalist and or looking to get ahead is a zero sum game…Im sure you know the definition of zero sum game but I will post for the others…
zero sum game defined…In game theory and economic theory, zero-sum describes a situation in which a participant’s gain or loss is exactly balanced by the losses or gains of the other participant(s). If the total gains of the participants are added up, and the total losses are subtracted, they will sum to zero. Zero-sum can be thought of more generally as constant sum where the benefits and losses to all players sum to the same value of money (or utility). Cutting a cake is zero- or constant-sum, because taking a larger piece reduces the amount of cake available for others. In contrast, non-zero-sum describes a situation in which the interacting parties’ aggregate gains and losses is either less than or more than zero. Zero-sum games are also called strictly competitive.
So how do you as the capitalist claim to be getting ahead without “standing on the backs” of others…Who do you think you buy that discounted property from?..A fallen American…Who do you think you flip that property to?..Another form of a zero sum game…You are misinformed about being a capitalist…A Capitalist must take advantage of an arbitrage otherwise he/she isnt a capitalist…And the only way is when real oppurtunity presents itself is to pounce on it…And oppurtunity comes from the mistake of someone else…Plain and simple…
I will continue to vote for any party/candidates that try to better health care. This administration is working to do that. For the first time, it's not just lip service. How can we allow them to fail yet again?
Once again, you show a striking lack of knowledge on the subject. This administration is NOT working to “better health care”. We already have the finest health care in the world, which is witnessed by the inflow of important people from other countries to the United States when they have serious medical problems. Furthermore, The Chosen One claims to be taking $500 BILLION out of Medicare to help pay for healthcare reform, while at the same time using that same money to beef up Medicare. It’s all gibberish intended to confuse the American people (they got you) so that they can take over 1/6 of the economy. This is about instituting SOCIALISM, not about improving healthcare.
I suggest that you spend some time educating yourself. You might start with the Cloward and Piven strategy, which is the strategy that The Chosen One and his socialist comrades are following to “fundamentally transform” the United States.
