Wife in Nevada, husband in Georgia

Well, that’s about 1000+ miles apart. Its gonna be hard to have them both sign and notarize documents. What is the legal policy on notarizations? Can I send two identical copies of the contracts and have them individually notarize them, then combine the two identical contracts back into one?

one can give the other power of atty.

Or give me power of attorney?

What about when the wife and husband are ex-'s and don’t want to have anything to do with each other? Will the two copies of the same contract not work?

Dean

they’re both gonna be req’d to sign docs at closing. My ex and I had to both show up.

When we bought our current house, only the husband showed up with power of atty (they had moved to AZ). So I know that works.

Otherwise, maybe ask the title co. I’m sure they have a way to get it done. This can’t be THAT unusual.

Usually each party can sign a legal document and send the document to escrow, title, etc. It’s called signing in counter parts.
