I am new to investing, I would like to know if this is a good way to start. What should I do to get started? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Why is this a poll? What would you hope that your results show?
Keith
My apology if I posted this the wrong way.
Come on Kieth, cut him some slack. lol
I’d start off with birddoging, then gradually move up to different strategies, such as wholesaling and so forth.
Birddogging is the least amount of risk and monetary investment. Plus you have the ability to learn while you earn!
- It’s Keith
B. I did cut him some slack - the thread is still here!
Keith (not Kieth) - “i before e, except after c”…or, apparently k.
Before you try to figure out what type of investing is best, I would suggest answering the following questions.
- What is your current financial position (credit, cash, creditlines)
- Why is it that you want to become an investor?
- Where do you want to be as an investor 1 year, 2 years, 5 years, and 10 years from now?
- What is your real estate market like?
Answering those questions will help me to answer what you should be doing.
My Bad KEIth :cool
Thanks guys for the info, I think this forum is great!!
By the way any good nuts and bolts books on the subject.
cmramsey - my suggestion - follow ericmedem advice… Find answer to the questions he wrote… And while you are at it… write your business plan… I have just finished writing mine and it was an eye opener… I am much more confident now.
In terms of books - I guess you will first need to decide what you want to do. In my case I want to do rentals (buy and hold). I am reading books on landlording, LLCs, business plans (how to start a small business).
As I was writing my business plan, I also put together an action checklist with specific tasks I want to accomplish. I am addressing each task one by one… From 29 tasks, I have already addressed 3… :O) It’s good to see the progress…
Good luck!
