The best thing to do is find others like you and join an investing club in Arlington or Dallas. There are many in Texas and for the most part, REO specialists are helpful. They not only help with information, but they barter properties, too. The companies can give you a list of rehabbers if you are buying foreclosures and if you need hard money, they know where you can get it.
