Wholesaling an RE Option

How do you guys wholesale an “option to purchase” real estate?

I understand how to assign contracts, etc.

If I have an 60 day option on a property do I assign the option to an investor OR do I excerise my option draft a Purchase Agreement then assign?

If I assign the option, do I need to let the homeowner know that someone else will be excersising it?

I would also like to know. Basically I would like to know if you can wholesale an option to buy. And if you can wholesale an option to buy would that be better for a beginner to use rather than a contract to purchase with an “escape” clause?
