Where to form LLC and How

Hi,

I am getting ready to buy out of state rental property in atlanta. I do not live in this state (georgia). I do not have any LLC yet. Should I form the LLC in georgia or in the state I live in, nj.

In NJ I can form the LLC just by using the website. If I need the LLC in georgia how I go about doing it. Is there any website. What are the yearly registration charges etc.

Thanks.

Any possibility you could provide the NJ web site. I’m a new NJ investor (1 property, 1 in the works) and am contemplating LLC/S-Corp.

Thanks

GA is where you want to file. http://www.sos.state.ga.us/corporations/

NJ = http://www.state.nj.us/njbiz/s_forms.shtml.

Setting up entitiies is easy. Selecting the right one & running them takes more effort & knowledge, as I can attest from advising & writing on the subject.

Do you know if one could do it on line in PA ?

would be nice to have the link for all the states. Is it available anywhere.

I know here in MI they have a business start up web page at mi.gov. I would assume most state websites would have such a service. It literally walks you through the whole process from start to finish.

The Secretary of State’s website for your state likely has information on forming an LLC and other corporations.
