Where can you find potential opportunities for short sales?

I have an agent that does them, but it seems like she would rather do traditional purchases. How I can get her homes that might be applicable for a short sale? I have another agent that has 25 years in the business that is negative on them as well. He says by the time they get to the market that they have lost their discount.

Do any of you have any suggestions on how I can help them find these properties that are availble before they get to market?

Does anyone have the ability to answer this question? This seems to be a stumbling block we see quite frequent problem with a lot of investors. Even many experts cannot really answer this question very well.
