Where can I get rules and laws for my state regarding landlording ?

Is there a list on this site ?

Thanks

Google your state “tenant landlord law” and join your local REIA.

Good Luck,

Mike

There are links to a lot of the landloring laws in the left column under “Investor Resources” select “State Property Codes”…

check you state website under something like Consumer Affairs, etc. They hear about tenant-LL disputes all the time.

It will be in the state property code. Your local Apartment Association would have copies and provide updates to their members. The Texas Apartment Association has a book that explains the laws in plain english and provides case examples. I think it’s called the Red Book.

It’s a good idea for serious landlords to join their local chapter.

Be sure to check your local court system as well, in my area the courts and their paperwork vary widely from area to area. I would just call the courthouse in your area and find out what you need to know and what forms you might need
