What would you like you realtor to do for you?

Hi Everyone-

I wanted to get some feedback from both beginners and experienced investors. I’ve been investing since 2005, and one of the things that has always fustrated me was realtors who don’t understand the investment world. So, to fill the gap I went and got my license to work with both first time investors and experienced investors, and wanted to get your 2 cents to see if there is anything I’m missing when working with investors.

So, my questions to you are;
  1. How can your realtor best serve you as a investor?
  2. What would you like from your realtor as part of your power team?
  3. And lastly, how would an investor benefit the realtor?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
cquigley

why do “realtors who don’t understand the investment world” frustrate you??

realtors are involved in sales…and investors are involved in investing…

yes, sometimes it can be a little puzzling as to why they don’t see the opportunites with RE-investing… but why is that of your concern, and why do you let it bother you??

to each his own… why spend even 10 seconds letting someone else’s choices frustrate you…seems silly:-(

you should be happy that they “don’t get it”…and you “do get it!” - you have the advantage, run with it and leave them behind…

Besides, many realtors are lazy and wait around for the phone to ring…those realtors and not interested in the work it takes to become the successful investor…they just like commissions

I agree with taxlienadvisor…Realtors are commissioned salespeople, not investors…they work for commissions just like any other sales employee. But to answer your questions:

  1. Find listed junkers and REOs, send me expired listings to mail to
  2. Find listed junkers and REOS and run comps
  3. He/she would earn commissions when I buy a listed junker or REO, and I’ll pay them a bonus when I flip an expired listing

bring houses to me that are REAL deals - thats all
