I was wondering what is the most effective use of business cards?
I was thinking of having 2 - one business card to leave at stores and such (maybe the folded dollar bill type) which lists our website for buyers or investors to contact us and another business card would be generic with our company name and contact info and not have the website info.
I have heard when dealing with certain sellers (e.g., probate heirs/PRs), it can be a little off-putting to give them a business card that screams “we buy houses” and to just give them a card with generic contact info.
use cards that scream out I buy houses and leave them everywhere you go. as for the dollar bill cards, they are actually kind of a disappointment for whoever picks them up, so do you really want their first impression of you to be a disappointment?
As for heirs, you wont meet that many of them unless your biz is targeted primarily at probates and estates. Even so, you want them to remember you once they are feeling up to resolving the issue.
I don’t know… the whole idea of having business cards that scream “we buy houses” still seems to work pretty well for a lot of people. If you don’t want to take that route, I do like the creative edge you are thinking about pursuing. But, like hassansr said, using a folded up dollar bill may leave poor first impressions.
I’m not sure what kind of budget you have for your business cards, but making unique ones that stand out can have some great effects for you in the long run.
If you make a clever and creative business card, not only will people want to keep them, but they’ll want to show them to other people, which of course gives you more lead potential.
Again, the main drawback is cards like this will probably be more expensive.
Here’s an idea: make 2 different types of business cards: 1 with the traditional “we buy houses” and another with something creative or clever. Then, in the bottom right-hand corner of each card, put some kind of code there to determine one card from another. That way, when people contact you, you can ask them about this unique code and you can track which one performs better for you.
Obviously, you just don’t want to ask them what the code is, think of something clever that brings the code in the conversation. If you do this, then you will be able to figure out which cards works best in your local area, as that is what it really comes down to…
use your business card as a marketing piece. I have WE BUY HOUSES on mine as well but my cards have a ton of substance on them. Not cluttered or obnoxious. Whatever you do don’t use the free cards from vista or el cheapo’s from the office supply chains. Get a designer and have some thing appealing. It’'s the first thing some people see of you. also, I wouldn’t post my pic on the card either too many people will mistake you for a Realtor…
what is the “we buy homes” m.o.? we’re looking for investors for the flint, michigan market where there a tons of homes available. is this a good category to target market to?
