Use RE Attorneys instead of RE Agents?

Do most Private RE Investors sse RE Attorneys to close deals instead of using RE Agents?

NO. I don’t use either if I can help it.

Realtors and Attorneys have totally different functions, neither replaces the other.

Real estate agents do not close deals if you’re speaking of closing in the true sense of the word. They do not draw and review docs or do Hud-1 etc. They are mediaries to a sale

Can a realtor participate wholesaling as well with disclosure of course ? Is it worth then gettting a license. I see pro and cons of doing so. Advise ? I am thinking of getting a license but not sure as I found that whatever you make the broker will have a piece of the action even he/ she was not involved.

Howdy Yudie:

The subject of license vrs no license has been discussed at great length in previous posts. There is no right and wrong answer but only what benefits each investor. I ask you to research past posts to find the right answer for yourself.

If you are an agent and can steal a deal and flip it even with full disclosure the seller can claim you had an unfair advantage and used your superior knowledge and win a lawsuit against you and the Recovery fund. Walk on thin ice if you participate in deals like this, I would disclose everything and get them to sign that they know you are making $XXX and that they were under duress and had to sell at a lower price to meet certain obligations etc.

Thanks so much … I am not an agent but seriously thinking as company might be downsizing even though I have a senior position… it is very hard as well for me actually as I am not sure and keep hearing about RE investing, agents, etc etc… are doing quite well. I am still think actually.
