To have or not to have the word "Investments" in Co. name?

Hey Everyone,

Trying to think of a good company name but im kinda torn about wheter or not to have the word “Investments” or “Invesment” in the company name.

I dont know why but Ive come to a notion that many people think that investors are slimeballs out to take advantage of people. and when it comes to making offers to RE agents they might see ABC REAL ESTATE INVESTMENTS and be like “UUH! a investor! I hate investors!” Or if someone calls on a we buy houses sign and than I make an offer on the there property and on the contract they see ABC Investments and might say “Investors are slimeballs Im not selling to you sir.”

Anyone have any opinions/exp. with somthing like this? Does your company name contain the words INVESTMENTS??

Thanks,
Drew

Whether that is a deserved reputation really isn’t important. You sound as though you are uncomfortable with the term so why don’t you choose a company name that implies strength or stability or integrity.

Thanks for the reply.

Im just worried about how others will perceve me if my company name had the term investments in it. Like I said and I dont know why it seems that conventional thinking tells people that investors are just out to get you.

Maybe Im just worrying to much, afterall its just a company name.

Why not have your name say what you do?

Is there any doubt about Jiffy-Lube’s business? Quick, efficient oil changes is their core business, and their name tells you what they do.

What specific niche of real estate investing will you be doing? If you are planning to be a property management company, then “Property Management People” might be a viable name. If you are planning to buy and sell high end properties, then a company name that defines your niche might be “Executive Homes Solutions”. If you are planning to focus on the distressed homeowner, then “Real Estate Problem Solvers” could be used for marketing to foreclosures, divorces, estates, etc.

Tell what your investment focus will be, and perhaps some better suggestions will come from the forum members.

My main focus will be buying and holding properties for equity growth/appreciation and cashflow. I do plan to rehab and flip a little but I want the “bulk” of my business to be buying and holding long term.

Thanks,
Drew

Drew, I have one word for you…“Holdings”.

I like it! Drew Real Estate Holdings, LLC. Very professional sounding.

That does have a ring to it!

and it’s easier than

“Drew’s intergalactic rock-solid always-ethical foreclosed home buying business”

which probably won’t fit on the business card.

Stay away from “we buy houses” or “stop foreclosure” magenetic car signs on your vehicle. 2 people I read about nearly got shot, besides that they are tacky and unprofessional.

…the signs, the cars, or the individuals…?
