time to get in the streets

Reality, PositiveOutlook, is in that same Rassmussen Report:

“OVERALL, 53% OF VOTERS SAY THEY AT LEAST SOMEWHAT APPROVE OF THE PRESIDENT’S PERFORMANCE.”

That sounds about right to me. I live in a Conservative town, in a Conservative County. Bush Country, he used to love coming here. Even Sarah Palin has shown up in our 'lil Burg.

Where EVERYONE is presumed to be Republican and Conservative. And even here, about half the people I talk to think he is doing a pretty good job. Which is what that poll showed.

Obviously you, propertymanager, hooch etc. are in the 35% approx. of voters who STRONGLY DISAPPROVE of the President’s performance. Gnash your teeth now, you can count me in the STRONGLY APPROVE 28%.

No, you all are not the only Conservatives that I listen to, they are all over town here! But you are amongst the most rabid–“He’s tearing the country apart!”

No, he ain’t. He’s doing a darn fine job. Most people think so. And you all are doing a lot of hollering and squawking.

Furnishedowner

He’s doing a darn fine job

You forgot to finish your sentence. I’ll finish it for you … of causing irreversible damage.

Answer the questions please. You are avoiding them.

Also, would you care to share with us why you think that Obama is slipping so quickly. Why it seems that people are starting to recognize that he actually isn’t the messiah? Do you think it is because the “people” are becoming aware that he is damaging this country to a degree that could potentially not be repaired? How do you UNDO all of that money that was wasted? Can we get a second shot at that? How about those hundreds of billions that he is saving until the congresses election year? Was that a political move? A political move that has cost us hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars?

Yes, reality Furnishedowner, the complete quote was…

“Overall, 53% of voters say they AT LEAST SOMEWHAT approve of the President’s performance. Forty-six percent (46%) DISAPPROVE.”

Easy to get to “at least somewhat” overall which leaves it open to ambiguity… harder to get to a definitive “disapprove” overall.

What you are missing is that the index is called the Presidential Approval Index… In January 2009, he was 31+ points in the positive, and he is now -8 points in the NEGATIVE… that is quite a drop for such a popular guy…

Note, this index measures those who STRONGLY AGREE/DISAGREE…

Positive is correct. One must read each and every word in the sentence as they all have meaning.

I think it’s important to note that obama’s drop in support is mostly democrats and independents.Alot are catching on to this crazy spending spree.

Are we actually watching history repeat itself?..

USATODAYGALLUP: Poll Danger Signs; Obama Tracking Lower Than Carter…

http://www.drudgereport.com/ocg.jpg

Bottom graph points are Obama…

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/presidential-approval-tracker.htm

From the above article - "More people disapprove than approve of Obama on four domestic issues: the economy, taxes, health care and the federal budget deficit. He scores majority approval on handling Iraq, Afghanistan and foreign affairs.

The biggest drop has been on his handling of the economy, down 12 points since February; his disapproval is up 19 points. The most erosion has come not from Republicans or independents but among his own Democrats. Support from conservative and moderate Democrats is down by 18 points. Another group in the party’s political base — those earning $20,000 to $50,000 a year — had a drop of 15 percentage points, to 47%.

That could reflect one reason why moderate Democratic senators and the fiscally conservative Blue Dog Democrats in the House are demanding more cost controls in the health care plan before they’ll sign on."

What I find odd about the above is - “He scores majority approval on handling Iraq, Afghanistan and foreign affairs.” Being that he is pretty much mirroring Bush policies on these, what does it say that on these issues he is up, but on Obama’s issues, he is down???

Does this mean that the shine is wearing off or that history is simply repeating itself?..

The troop death toll in Afghanistan hits highest rate in the entire 8 years. Is this a sign of Obama’s failure? All troop deaths before used to be Bush’s fault. Is Obama at fault here or should we redirect the blame to someone else? The poll suggests that we already did.

That’s an interesting poll. Does that poll indicate that Obama has been a failure in comparison to Clinton? He will be hard pressed to meet Bush’s approval in a few months considering his continual decline.

His upbringing of getting everything he wanted from his grandparents is really shining thru.My 4 year old is’nt this much of a pouting kid.LORD HELP US.So glad people are finally coming to their senses,a little late, but good.

And you know that the “Obama wears mom jeans” article got more publicity than this crap.

Just got done watching this lying president in one of his numerous primetime pitches. If this healthcare does’nt take effect until 2013 what’s the rush??I,like everyone else would like to see it done once and right rather than shooting another 1,000pgs through again that nobody reads. How do you stand up there pitching something you have’nt read either??

Nothing said about how to pay for it or the cap on lawsuits.Really not much said at all, just his usual rambling and piss poor number of questions he answered. What the hell did the racial question have to do with healthcare??A quickdraw race card to pass his bill,??I think he’s worn that card out already.

Sellinbama,

Is the magic wearing off or is reality of all the massive spending and massive control grab with nationalized healthcare too much to overcome?..

Today marks the first time Obama’s overall approval rating has ever fallen below 50% (49%) among LIKELY Voters NATIONWIDE. Fifty-one percent (51%) DISAPPROVE.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

Some additional stats…

Fifty-three percent (53%) now OPPOSE the Congressional health care reform package. That’s up eight points over the past month. Just 20% now say health care reform is the most important of the four budget priorities Obama laid out early in his presidency. Nearly twice as many (37%) say deficit reduction is the number one priority.

Nationwide, 72% don’t want the federal government determining what type of light bulbs they should purchase.

Fifty-three percent (53%) of U.S. voters say President Obama is now governing like a partisan Democrat, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.

Interesting…

But 60% of voters oppose the passage of a second economic stimulus plan this year, while 27% think it’s a good idea. Forty-five percent (45%) of Americans say the rest of the new government spending authorized in the first stimulus plan SHOULD NOW BE CANCELED.

Seventy-six percent (76%) of Americans say it is at least somewhat likely that a LARGE AMOUNT of money in the stimulus plan will be wasted due to inadequate government oversight.

However, while voters are opposed to another spending stimulus plan, 51% favor an across-the-board tax cut for ALL Americans.

POs,

I feel a massive cleanout of the house next year, making him a lame duck and pelosi the crazy one in the corner in a strieght jacket…god let’s hope and prey for our countries sake!!

Fifty-three percent (53%) of U.S. voters say President Obama is now governing like a partisan Democrat, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.

I wonder if they were given the chance to vote that he was governing like a SOCIALIST that is intent on destroying the country! That would have been my vote!

Mike

Seillinbama,

I’m hoping for a massive cleanout on both sides… and get some more independants in there to break the strangle-hold of the two-parties, which would FORCE more focus on the people or at the very least SLOW the ever-increasing influence of the government through gridlock…

Look at how the Blue-dog Democrats are CAUSING more delay right now - just imagine throwing in some independants…

Propertymanager,

I couldn’t agree more… But just as Gates will never be called a racists, Obama will never be called a socialist by the media, even though the policies he is advocating are the very definition of socialist… an example…

CHALLENGE - For all those who voted for Obama, explain how the policies Obama is advocating are NOT socialist…

My guess is more cricket sounds…

“CHALLENGE - For all those who voted for Obama, explain how the policies Obama is advocating are NOT socialist…”

Settled by silence… I expected a little opposition… could be WHY Obama’s numbers are tanking… reality is starting to take hold…

MORE reality…

From the article -

"Overall, 48% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance. That is the lowest level of total approval yet recorded for this President. Fifty-one percent (51%) now disapprove. A plurality of voters now believe the President views American society as unfair and discriminatory.

It is important to remember that the Rasmussen Reports job approval ratings are based upon a sample of likely voters. Some other firms base their approval ratings on samples of all adults. President Obama’s numbers are always several points higher in a poll of adults rather than likely voters. That’s because some of the President’s most enthusiastic supporters, such as young adults, are less likely to turn out to vote."

“Forty-nine percent (49%) now say that America’s best days have come and gone. Just 38% believe they are still to come. Thirty-four percent (34%) say the country is heading in the right direction. Seventy-five percent (75%) want the Federal Reserve to be audited.”

Big Brother has logged your IP address and is investigating your threat to the administration…

Lumbalumba,
I read yesterday the secret service has their hands full with death threats and budget cutbacks(2 things that are dangerous together). If you think we’re on our way to socialism/communism,let something stupid cause a catastrophie. Please keep comments like that out of the air,if you don’t understand why, then you REALLY DON’T GET IT.
