I would like to know how long does it take for a title company to run the title to make sure it is clear. I want to assign my contacts so I would like to know how long I have to get it assigned, so the buyer would have time to do the title work instead of me.
It varies from 1 day to 12 days depending on your relationship with the title company. Most will want to sell you a title insurance as well unless you have pre-established relationship.
It also depends on where you are located. The county offices in some rural areas are only open a couple days a week. This makes it difficult for the abstractor to get access.
