This is all I know........

Found a vacant property. I call the abstract office to find out the skinny. It was taken back in January for 68K. Went to sherrifs sale in April. Its not listed with anyone right now nor are there any past listings in the MLS history file. Its owned by Wells Fargo. Where do I go now to find out more info on this property? Any suggestions are welcomed,

Nate-WI

Here are the REO for Wells Fargo.

If you cant find it, call the bank directly

Wouldn’t they need to know the loan number?

Nate-WI

If the house is currently vacant, and it went to auction, the bank probably bought it back. If so, you can call them and ask about the property.

You shouldnt need a loan number unless your doing a short sale. They should be able to pull it up by address.

Here is the their contact info.

I’ll give it a shot. Thanks for the help.

If its not on the site yet. It is probably still in the redemption phase.

Explain to me the redemption phase. Is there a time between sherrif’s sale and when it is listed? It seems that it is in limbo right now.

Nate-WI

What state are you in?

In somestates the homeowner still has time (by law) to redem the property even after the auction

Wisconsin hence Nate-WI. Sorry couldn’t resist

Didnt even notice it.

Wisconsin has a 365 day redemption period. Ouch! But I guess if the buyer says I CANT PAY IT, AND WONT PURSUE GETTING THE HOME BACK THE, then the bank has ownership.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that the bank would be willing to sell it. I guess I will continue to dig for answers. Thanks though,
