How long does a Federal tax lien stay on a property?
I’m asking because I was looking at this property and discovered a tax lien!
It was put on the property in 1991 and in 1995.
So does that mean it comes of after 4 years if it still hasn’t been paid?
Can the government keep putting it back on until it is paid?
Can you dicount a Federal Tax Lien?
Thanks

Most states tax leins stay on forever. The paper can also go up for auction.
Yes, you can discount tax liens. depends on the situation
I used this web site for tax related research http://www.ustaxcourt.gov/
This is an actual docket of a tax case that will help in the understanding of tax liens http://www.ustaxcourt.gov/InOpHistoric/edwards2.sum.WPD.pdf
Also . The IRS has ten years from the date of assessment in which to try to collect the tax by judicial or administrative means.
