This is tax info from assessor. This form indicates what the value is on each item ( building, land, wells, and out buldings. The tax commissioner is the office to go to to see if the taxes are paid.

You want to contact your State Department of Taxes and Assessments.
Do you know if you pay PITI on your mortgage?

Contact your Lender(s) to see if you have an escrow account for your taxes, which if you do then they pay your taxes.

I agree with Mustang.
The assessor’s office will only tell you what the rate is, not what the Balance Due is.
What county and state are you refering to?

Hi,

Rhode Island. Please advise.

I’m not sure how things work in the entire state, but Providence has a site that lists its annual sale.

http://www.providenceri.com/sb/tax_collector.php

Go half way down that page & click on:

July 20, 2006 Tax Sale Ad

In Providence, if you know the Acct Nbr, try going to:
https://www.paybill.com/providencetaxes/RealEstate/

That should tell you what the accounts balance is.
If not call the city clerks office ask them if a website exists that could give it to you.
We have a local taxing district here in Texas, that you have to call in and ask the clerk’s assistant for the information.
I apologize to her for bothering her with numerous account inquires, but she says, “I don’t mind. That’s what I get paid to do.”

Newport also has an annual sale on Aug 23rd in the City Hall council chambers at 10AM.

For that, see: http://www.cityofnewport.com/dept/finance/collections/taxsale.html

Too bad your sales are only once a year.
You’ve really got to be ready, don’t you?
Good Luck.
