Tax Lien Investing

:help I’m a newbie. This might be a dumb question. Let’s say I purchased a tax lien certificate for $1000 at an auction with a redemtion period of 6 months. Within the 6 months the owner of the property, taxes are due again. Will I have to pay that? Are there any other fees I have to pay other than my initial investment of $1000?
