Syracuse, New York

This is a little off topic But I did not know where to place this question, so here goes.

Is anyone on this board familiar with Syracuse, New York as it relates to quality of life, schools, housing, economy, etc, etc, etc.etc. I am looking for an idea as to which neighborhoods are the best to buy in as far as living vs. investing.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Nobody on this forum has any opinions on Syracuse? ???

I just spoke with the REIA president in Syracuse and he likes the Tully area, about 20 minutes south of Syr. Also Lyncourt is nice. Many think the best schools are on the west side (Camillus, Westvale, Fairmount), and Liverpool. Housing prices are very reasonable, but taxes are high. Syr. was listed #1 area in the northeast for appreciation in the next 2 years by Fortune. Hope that helps a little. I hope to invest there soon

I invest in syracuse right now. As a matter of fact I have a nice flip to wholesale out.

It’a in upstate NY…bring a good snowshovel, a 4WD, and some Sorels!

Its not that bad. Syracuse is in central new york. Now buffalo is a different story

This part of New York is a total buyer’s market at this time Dell Investor. But, depending on what your niche of Real Estate is, you could still use a number of strategies to succeed. These markets usually mean that renting might be wiser here, so what I would do, is check with a great realtor in the area, and get a deeper and rounded analysis done. While the market overall is somewhat a buyer’s market from my research, that doesn’t mean that some other areas of the market aren’t strong. You should get that analysis done by a qualified Realtor in the area, to be aware of the best locations to invest in.

But again, I must ask this question, what is your niche? Without a clearly defined niche, you run a big risk of not succeeding Dell.
