Subscription Foreclosure Websites

Looking for a good resource to find foreclosures. I keep coming upon those sites that charge money for a subscription. They advertise that they have hundreds of available properties in a specified area, but you need a subscription to see the info.

One in particular is foreclosurefreesearch.com. They have a 7 day free trial but a $40/month subscription fee.

Nervous about a bait and switch (even though they don’t require a contract) and the timeliness of the data…(properties already gone by the time they get updated on this site).

Any thoughts/feedback?

The following are good free sites:

http://www.ocwen.com/
Ocwen Financial Corporation

http://www.firstpreston.com/
First Preston Management, Inc.

http://www.hud.gov/offices/hsg/sfh/reo/homes.cfm
HUD Homes

None of these sites charge. I use these sites all the time and really like the HUD system.

Hope this helps…

Some mortgage banks also have a list of foreclosures on their websites, Indymac, Countrywide, etc…

Just remember that most of these lists are generated from court documents and are often at least four days old. Those who go directly to the records are four days ahead of you so technically these lists are old and, often, the bargains are snapped up already. I know because I have been on both ends - the snapper and the snapee

HI KRAFTY,

I ALSO TRIED THIS SITE OUT. BUT I FOUND THE SAME THING THAT YOU FOUND. I AM A REALTOR SO SOME OF THE INFO THAT THEY GAVE WERE ALREADY ON MLS. I THINK IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY WITH FORECLOSUREFREESEARCH.COM.
