State of PA taxes owed

Does anyone know how back taxes are handled in PA - specifically Delaware county? trying to purchase house that is behind. Do the taxes have to be caught up prior to sale or can I include that expense in my offer?

I would think that the back taxes would be paid for as part of the closing costs. This is the way a normal home sale works with regular property taxes.

I think PA-A is right – that’s the way it’s worked everywhere I’ve been…it will be settled at closing…the $64,000 question is “From which side of the HUD-1”? Unless you structure the deal differently, these funds should come from the seller’s side (just like the Realtor’s fees!)…
