siding

I know it depends on measurements and other things. I’m not trying to get a quote for it… just a ballpark figure. I’m not sure whether it would cost 3,000 or 15,000.

How much have you guys paid in the past to have vinyl siding put on a house? I’ll be getting a quote from a contractor I’m just curious to see what I could be looking at.

WAY too many variables to consider. 100% brick with only eaves/fascia to cover? 100% siding on a 4,000 ft2 house?

100% siding on a 1500 sf house

Not sure how much vinyl siding goes for in La., but here in the Northeast I wouldn’t expect to pay more than $3k for a 1500 sq ft. house. In fact, you could get it for less, but that at least gives you a ballpark figure.

I don’t imagine that includes installation does it?

Yeah, that’s installed… now, let me just say this… I’m trying to use a little linear logic. I’m in the process of getting vinyl siding done on a 2800 sq ft for $5k, installed. So I’m merely assuming 1500 sq ft could be done for $3k. And mine’s a two story, FWIW.

It doesn’t cost twice as much to put siding on a house that is twice as large…in other words, it is not linear

Ok, I hope that is close to what it would cost here. I was expecting that to be a really big cost.

It may not be exactly linear Bluemoon, but one would expect it to be less, right? I think people forget sometimes it’s hard for a newbie to estimate repair costs b/c they don’t have a vague idea of what some things cost. Shaun wanted a ballpark, I gave him a ballpark. Remember the first time you tried to run numbers for a house that needed siding, or a roof, or new electrical, or any other major cost that you couldn’t begin to guess an estimate for? Ballpark numbers help newbs.
