I’m currently working on a ss and countrywide is the second lien holder, what do they normally accept? I have the first( Homeq Servicing) approved my offer and faxed it to Countrywide. Thanks.
CW will request $3000 if the 1st is also taking a short- they will still have to go through the short sale process of ordering a appraisal and the process can take anywhere from 2-6 weeks depending on who the investor is. If there is mortgage insurance on the property, the MI company will sometimes require that the 2nd receive 10% of what is owed for them to approve the short sale.
I’ve seen less than $3000 accepted, but CW offers 2nds $3000 to release and expects the same in return.
