Short sale HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im a real estate Appraiser in miami, florida and Im eager to learn more about short sales. I just went to a short sale workshop where they talked to us about short sales. After the workshop was over they offered a 3 day class to us, but the price is very expensive($3,000.) PLEASE HELP!!!
Any recommendations? Should i take the class, or does anyone have any other suggestions.

Wow! And to think that I work for a living. The Realtors group here is offering the same information for $299.00. From what I have read on this forum you can learn most of what you need right here. It’s just a matter of getting into the transaction. The lenders will tell you what they need.

I think your plan of action depends on where you want to be in the short sale process.

Regardless, though, I don’t think there’s any credible information out there on the subject that is worth paying $3,000 for. If you really want to spend $25 on a book, that sounds about right, but I bet you could get what you need to get started for free from the Web…probably right here, in fact.

The short sale process is not complicated, although there are a few pieces to the puzzle that you will need to put together, and naturally you need to compile a package that makes the short sale look like it’s the best option for the lender, which it very well may be.

hi have you going to a locol real estate invest club in you area? is lot ov help ther for this .an ef any one now the name of good book on short sales.pleez right

I think $3,000 for a Short Sale course is ridiculous. I just started with Short Sales about 2 months ago, and I just bought a book for $30 and I use this forum often. The book includes everything you need to know, plus the help on this forum is great. In fact, I think you could actually know nothing about short sales, and just call the bank’s loss mitigation dept. and walk through the process step-by-step.

The only trouble I have is with forms such as the HUD-1 and working together with an attorney, title company, etc. But I have a partner who’s been a real estate agent, so he helps with that.

Of course there’s always the better way of doing things, and I’d rather learn from other people or through experience rather than pay $3,000 for a 3 day course. But that’s just me.
