Sheriff Sale

Anyone find these sales are worth your time? I know the dangers of buying at a sheriff sale…just curiuos if i was the only one who goes to the sales

I just started looking into these. I see them in the paper every morning and decided to start doing some research. The only thing I can’t figure out is where do I find out how much $ is owed on these things?

With the sheriff sale the debt owed is listed…HOWEVER…be very careful you still need to do a search on the property (courthouse) to see if any liens are filed against the property. Remember the BANK filed the foreclosure. The homeowner may have liens from repairmen, lawsuits, or other mortgages.

Little help… where is the amount listed? It was not in the newspaper. I understand the title search, due dilligence, etc. Thanks for your time.

It should be listed with the property. it may say debt owed. If it is not listed, call the courthouse and ask them where the prices are listed. Most sheriff offices have a listing in their office for the next sale.

Thank you!

Thank you for this forum! It is so helpful!
I’m in Texas and know an investor who has asked me to get a foreclosure list for him, and do a little research on properties in a specific location. I found the list, but the addresses are not included…only the legal description. I tried using the computer system at the courthouse to look up some of the addresses, but was only successful on a few of them. It was a lot easier before I moved back to Texas. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you in advance for your help.
