Selling prices (where to look?)

After spending the last few evenings trying to assess the home prices in my area, I am convinced that everything I see on the retail side is a flip. They are all old house with newly remodeled kitchens and baths, and a fresh coat of paint. No way those guys are going to get those prices they are asking. The prices are too high for anyone except an uninformed speculator. (How can you sell $350k house to a a blue collar family that makes 50k a year?).

So that price is just wrong. What I want to know is what sold, how much it sold, and where to look for that pricing.

One of the best places is in the MLS. If you can find a realtor who will work with you, that would be very helpful. Another way to do it is to pay for a service like RealQuest. www.realquest.com
