Sam Walton

in his own words…

I learned early on that one of the secrets to campus leadership was the simplest thing of all: speak to people coming down the sidewalk before they speak to you. I did that in college. I did it when I carried my papers. I would always look ahead and speak to the person coming toward me. If I knew them, I would call them by name, but even if I didn’t I would still speak to them. Before long, I probably knew more students than anybody in the university, and they recognized me and considered me their friend."

Sam Walton also said “…most everything I’ve done I’ve copied from somebody else…”

his book…Made in America…a must read in my opinion…

regardless of whether or not you’re interested in retail…it really doesn’t matter…

the real benefit of the book is listening to this guy…as he talks to you one on one…

if I remember correctly…his main desire was to write the book for his grandchildren.

as you work thru the book…you get a real sense of how he was on fire…

by 4am…often already up in his plane…scouting.

that’s what I’m talkin’ about…

dang!

speaking of which…I’m nearly ready for a cat nap…started at about 2:30 this morning…now about 1pm eastern.
