hey all. im cleaning the bathroom of my first flip. there seems to be some mold on the ceiling which we’ve hit with bleech and plan on hitting with a steamer. does anyone else have helpful hints on how to kill mold properly?
Most bathrooms mold is mildew caused by poor ventilation and high humidity from showering. As long as you know yours isnt from a leak somewhere, what you did will be fine. Remember though you must seal over the mildewed area before painting to stop bleed through. I always use a shellac product called BIN available from Home Depot. Make sure then NOT to repaint with flat paint, use something like an acrylic latex semi gloss that will repel future mildew.
