Rental pricing

Can anyone give me some input /advice on the best way to find out what homes are renting for in a particular area.

You want rental comps. Before I buy a house, I get rental “sold” comps. This is not what houses were listed for rent, it is what they actually rented for. You want houses just like your in the same neighborhood in the last 3 to 6 months.

Any real estate agent should be able to get this for you, but look at the houses to make sure they are the ones that are like yours in your neighborhood. I have had houses pulled up that were in another neighborhood but because of how the developer bought the land back in 1965 it appears that they are in the same neighborhood. You have to look at them to make sure.

I’d just look in the newspaper classified ads and see what similar houses are renting for.
