What are rent rolls? I know, I’m an idiot. But i’ve got to know it somehow. Thanks.
Howdy Goosen2:
A rent role is a list of all the tenants in the building including how much their rent is and the unit size etc. As an example the market rents for a unit may be $550 per month but just started last month with only 4 or 5 units at that rate. A rent role would give you a list of which tenant is at what rate and what the true monthly rent would be for that month. It may also include the deposit held by the landlord as well.
My rent roll has the each tenant’s name; address and unit #; rent due; a place to record their payment; and a place to record their check number. The rent roll is used to be sure that you pick up all the rents each month. Otherwise, you’d just have to remember which rents you’ve picked up and which ones remain unpaid.

Is there a good program to record rent rolls and print out reports for your properties?

I use the Carleton Sheets Toolkit for the Rent Roll as well as all my property management stuff.
