REGISTERING A DOMAIN NAME

If you’ve registered an internet domain name, what site would you recommend I use if price, integrity, and service are major factors for me?

Thank you!

I like www.godaddy.com

I second GoDaddy.com. Very reasonable rates, easy to use web-based management, and good CS.

godaddy.com. I’ve got 300 domains with them and they’ve been very responsive to support questions.

Hey, Guys:

Thanks for the input. I registered my domain name this weekend on GoDaddy.com – they do have reasonable rates and appeared to offer good service, too.

Have any of you created a website yet? Did you use GoDaddy.com to do this or did you use a private webmaster to create one for you? Is GoDaddy.com hosting it?

I would have a private webmaster build your website. I have one who will build a great website usually for around $500. He also will host it for only $9.95 a month. I like the benefits of having control of my own website. It also allows me 20 email accounts.

let me know if you need some info. You can always find them on the web.

I use Godaddy for web hosting and find them very reasonable. Especially starting out when you have little to no traffic. It’s hard to beat $3.95/month. If you want to create just a basic site you can use their “Website Complete” software which works pretty well. If you site is more complex, it’s worth calling on a professional.

Hi there,

To register a domain name, see http://www.hostway.com US$6.95 / year.

To host your web site, http://www.HostAffect.com, US$15 / year.

I built my own site using mainly PHP and MySQL from scratch. I admit, though, that I’m not a graphic artist-type, so I still need assistance there.

The hosting of godaddy works well for very simple sites, if you want to do something as “tech” as a visitors counter that writes in a file, it would be denied.

It has the chance to install some content managers, that is good. I like ex Mambo, now Joomla (it is in cpanel too). You can have a custom made template for the skin of the site, for about $100. And it is very easy going for “image” sites. If you want to go further, you could build something as complex as REIClub… but that takes heavy customization, some php and sql experience (between $500-$1000 if you contract it).

Have fun!!
