I am a Realtor in Iowa and recently have come across several people needing to rent their homes and several clients needing rentals. I am NOT in the property management business and only do a few of these a year. So, my question is this. How much is normal for a straight referral fee no property management involved. Just simply me referring a client to a property owner and being paid if they sign a lease. Is half a month rent normal? A month rent? I have one guy who is going to sign a 3 year lease. What is the normal fee for a more than one year lease?
