Well, the RE Wealth Expo (Learning Annex) has come and gone. I spent this past weekend (03/25 and 03/26) at Moscone Center in San Francisco. I have never been to one of these events before and I was not aware it will be mostly sales pitches. The keynote speakers such as Trump, Orman, and Tony Robbins in the big hall kept me focused and excited. I’m not posting this to talk crap about the other gurus. I actually picked up bits of free information from their seminars. And I’m sure I could find those in the web somewhere. I hear the gurus in each of the seminars make more money selling their products now than REI. So I took in as much free information as I could. I saw Dana Van Hoose first. IMHO, that was a total waste of 90 minutes. For the first 60 mins, he talked about his credentials and his family. The last 30 mins was all sales pitch. David Lindahl’s 90 min seminar had more information and I enjoyed it. But again, I’m sure those free info can be found in his website.
The guru that convinced me to buy his product is Scott Scheel. I’ve always wanted to be in commercial REI and Scott pushed me over that fence. His product is pricy but I thought I’d look at it and make my decision to keep it (or not) before the 3 day buyer’s remorse date is up. It included software to evaluate the property and some DVDs and audio CDs. The book looks like it had lots of valuable info that I can find elsewhere. I did a search on him in this forum but not too many people had informative feedback. If I don’t get any feedback, I may just return it and do more research on him. I should have done this first. I’m sure I can buy his product anytime. Should I just spend my money on books? So if you have any informative feedback regarding Scott Scheel, I’d sure like to read it.
I’ve decided to return the products I bought from Scott Scheel. If you’re thinking of buying a product from any of the gurus from this expo, my suggestion is, don’t. It’s a total waste of your hard earned money. Now I hope I can get my money back. It’s still within the 3 day buyer’s remorse period.
I also went to the expo and really interested in commercial property. Finding a hot deal is not easy. Do you remember whether he provides coaching or mentoring ? I dont mind paying for the product but would definite need mentoring to get to experiment the real deal. You cant learn a new thing w.out applying it. I guess I will pop him an email and see what happens.
Did you tear out the plastic wrapper ?
Yes, he provides a 4 or 5 day “boot camp” for $5k. No, I did not tear the plastic wrapper that said “Attention, your refund will be void by openning this package.” I understand what you are saying about applying something new. I still plan to continue my education on commercial investing, just not through him. Something knocked in to my senses the day after I bought his product. I do not wish to share it here as I don’t want to start a long winded debate over it. But I wish you the best and hope you find what you are looking for in his products.
I tear the plastic wrapper of the entire package. On some CD there’s sticker which says if i open it it’s null and void. Do you think i still qualify if i open the external wrapping of the entire course ?
What make you change your mind (briefly) ? I really like to hear your opnion.
For me, i just need coaching…I have a deal in mind but gosh, it’s hard to start !
As long as you don’t tear the plastic off the dvds, and you send the “Notice Of Cancellation” back within three days after the transaction, someone will be contacting you to give you instructions how to get your money back within ten business days. If you went to the San Francisco expo and bought the materials either on 03/25 or 03/26, the three day buyers remorse contract is over. If you haven’t mailed the notice of cancellation by now, it’s too late. My suggestion is to go ahead and use it, then sell it on Ebay.
As for your other question, I can e-mail you my opinion.
i sent out the cancellation notice on 3/28 …phew…i haven;t gotten a call or email to return the stuff yet .Have you ??
No, no calls yet. I read from another website this guy sent his notice of cancellation but never got a call for weeks until he threatened to report learning annex to BBB. I don’t know how it turned out.
we should call them monday to find the staus otherwise they might throw us the same glitch
btw i sent my notice with certifed mail, signature confirmation.
I sent mine certified mail as well. I went to usps.com and checked if they received it yet. No activity so far. I was told it would get there within 3 to 5 days. I entered my e-mail address at usps.com so that I will get an e-mail when they receive it. If I don’t get any notification this week, I will call.
Just curious, you said you don’t mind paying for the product and seek mentoring. What changed your mind?
I am curious and willing to learn new things esp in this specific area. Also he offer 1 day bootcamp class. I forgot whether he offered mentoring and restriction following that. Do you recall anything as such? If he offer mentoring, that would be helpful because I have several deals which I need an experienced advice.
I don’t get this. You returned his product but you are still intersted in his mentoring program. Do you just need someone to hold your hand through the process? Because if you do, there’s a lot of investment companies out there that will do it for you. Well, maybe not hold your hand but at least get you in a deal.
