Racism

Covenants Conditions and Restrictions of a property in the City of Sacramento:

  1. No persons of any race other than white or Caucasian race shall use or occupy any structure on any lot except that his provision shall not prevent occupancy by domestic servants of a different race domiciled with an owner or tenant, nor prevent the use of lots A, 166, 167, and 168 for retail commercial purposes by persons of the Japanese or Chinese race.

This was drafted in 1948, and, of course no longer applies as a legal mandate evidenced by the document attached to the Covenants Conditions and Restrictions of this property which read:

If this document contains any restriction based on race, color, religion, sex, familial status, marital status, disability, national origin, or ancestry, that restriction violates state and federal fair housing laws and is void. Any person holding an interest in this property may request that the county recorder remove the restrictive covenant language pursuant to subdivision ( c ) of Section 12956.1 of the Government Code.

Is this why Barack Obama wages such a successful bid for the White House? Does he attribute the poverty of African Americans to the lingering consequence of Jim Crow laws? Is socialism viewed as an answer? Why is our first African American presidential nominee a liberal?

For those who believe that reparitions are in order, how do you think this would be organized?

If dynastic wealth is so insurmountable, why is it that 80% of all millionaires in the United States are first generation affluent?

The phenomena of getting rich and building wealth seems to be nurture not nature.

The following races are twice as likely to be millionaires than other races:

Israeli, Latvian, Australian, Egyptian, Estonian, Turkish, Icelander, Syrian, Iranian, Slavic, Luxembourger, Yugoslavian, Palestinian, Slovene, Serbian.

These are low number populations, but they have twice the proportion of millionaires than the proportion of all U.S. households.

Why do you folks think these populations come to America, presumably with only the clothes on their backs, with no education, with no skills, with no connections, only to become the most affluent among us?

Yugoslavian, etc. are not races or ethnicities. They’re just countries of origin…nationalities. Not sure why this conversation is appropriate here anyway, but if you want to start communication, you need to understand the definition of race, ethnicity, versus culure.

There’s only about 3-4 original races. I can only think of these three.

  1. Caucasoid/Caucasian
  2. Mongoloid (not to be confused with Downs syndrome) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mongoloid_race (Asian, Pacific Islander)
  3. Negroid (African origin)

Ethnicity is a mix of culture and nationality, etc. that people identify with. African American is an ethnicity, not a race. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethnic_group

Found this yahoo answer that was great. It says there are 5 races per DNA structures. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080226044653AAz0RzZ

Neegroid
Caucasoid
Mongoloid
Astraloid
Native American

Hispanic/Mexicans would fall somewhere between Native American, Caucasoid, Mongoloid and Neegroid

I was shocked and repulsed when I read the CCRs for this particular subdivision. I believe that this point is pertinent for a real estate discussion.
So maybe I should have titled this post “bigotry” since that is really what it is about. I would imagine that people who hail from countries such as Egypt, Turkey, Syria, Iran or Israel could have faced discrimination based upon the CCRs regardless of their race.
I would be interested in hearing the political opinions, particularly regarding economic injustice, dynastic wealth, adult children of affluent families and people who rise from adversity.
I can understand why our country seems to believe that it is time for an African American president. What I fail to understand is the selection of a candidate who promotes socialism.

Rarely do we find men who willingly engage in hard, solid thinking. There is an almost universal quest for easy answers and half-baked solutions. Nothing pains some people more than having to think.

Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

By embracing socialism, are we not just sacrificing freedom in the name of justice? Is this really what we want?

[[[…was shocked and repulsed when I read the CCRs for this particular subdivision…]]]]

Yeah, maybe you could go back to 1948 and punch the original drafter right in the kisser.

I don’t think Americans have decided that they want their first black president. I think that Democrats have decided that they aren’t happy with politics in Washington and they will vote for anyone who promises to change the way things are run.

Obama is running on the exact same platform that Carter ran on. Carter won with it, and it looks like Obama is going to wiin with it.

Carter changed nothing in Washington, and Obama isn’t going to change how things are run, either.

For the vast majority of people in this country, RACISM IS OVER! It ended a generation ago, but the socialists have a financial motive in trying to keep it alive. Never mind that they are financially enslaving the very people they pretend to care about by keeping them in poverty with government handouts! I think it is an absolute shame and beyond disgusting!!!

Just last night, I attended a local political event in which the candidates were asked how they would handle diversity in their offices. The candidates spewed some politically correct nonsense about diversity and it was all I could do to keep my mouth shut. If I were answering the question, I would have said that I would hire the BEST person for the job regardless of their race, color, creed, disability, etc. That is the true end to racism - when everyone is treated equally!

How does all this affect real estate investors? Because whichever socialist gets into office will continue to chip away at capitalism in the United States. Those of us that are in the rental business know that government is always looking for a new way to take money from “rich” landlords. One of the ideas I’ve heard the socialists float is that wealth should be taxed. That could easily be the death knell of the rental property business. We all know that “wealth” doesn’t translate into “income”, but that doesn’t matter to the socialists who want to confiscate our money.

Look at the global warming issue, which has been renamed “climate change”. It’s the biggest scam ever perpetrated on the world. We now know that any warming ended nearly 10 years ago and the climate change scientists are now saying that the earth will cool for the next 15 years. In other words, they don’t know what the heck they are talking about, but the wacko socialists are using this issue to promote socialism! Look at the “cap and trade” bill that is now in the Congress. It shows exactly what the wacko socialists want to do to us. This bill is nothing more than a tax on business. Even the EPA says that this will raise gas prices by another $1.50 per gallon. If that’s their estimate, what do you think the reality will be? Another $3.00 per gallon? Another $4.00 per gallon? $5.00? In addition, estimates are that this “cap and trade” will cost TRILLIONS of dollars - lowering the standard of living for most Americans.

I wish that there was an alternative to all this, but there just isn’t. Osama and Billary are both socialists. McPain is a disgrace as a Republican and is nearly as socialistic as Osama and Billary. We’re in for a scary ride and I’m still predicting an economic collapse that will make the great depression look like an afternoon tea party!

Mike

Mike,

Just wondering… would you ever not vote for a republican? Is there any democrat that you would accept?

Mike,

Is this what your are trying to tell us/

Are those lobatomy scars?

Mike,

Just wondering… would you ever not vote for a republican? Is there any democrat that you would accept?

Yes, as a matter of fact I have voted for quite a few democrats and even a libertarian. I am not a Republican - I am a conservative. There is a HUGE difference between being a Republican and a conservative.

The only choice in the coming election is which socialist do we want to run the country! YUCK!

Mike

I think Ron Paul would do a great job as president

He understands what the country’s real problems are. better yet the cause’s of these problems. plus he doesn’t present himself as having an ego trip, he seems more like a man who would embrace any ideas that would be beneficial to the country.

the economy is screwed / fed’s monopoly printing and government allowing fed to bail out banks.

iraq / we shouldnt be policing the world. especially not when our own country is unstable.

the economy and the war is our countries biggest concerns.

he also conducts himself like a president should. he’s not a dirty politician. watch him in debates he never gets shaken or attacks back when attack. He simply puts out his thoughts.

anyways before this turns into a political topic that was my 2 cents lol

Mike,

If they start taxing our wealth, I agree, that would certainly be scary. Please cite for us which prominent democrat has suggested such a tax on wealth.

Hmm… this thread must have been lost since there isn’t a response.

Again, feel free to just cut and paste the links on where this scary suggestion of taxing wealth came from. I’d like to write that democrat a letter to share a piece of my mind!

Tax, spend, tax, spend, rinse and repeat…it’s what liberals do, it’s who they are. There’s not one that has NOT said it. They want to raise taxes, socialize medicine (COMMIES!!!), raise taxes, ban guns from law-abiding citizens, raise taxes.

By the way, I was in the military for 20 years and have worked as civilian for the US Department of Veterans Affairs - these are living examples of Federalized socialized medicine.

Did I mention raising taxes? Raising the cost of my health care to cover people that won’t work or are gettting free health care because they’re here illegally is paramount to raising taxes - it’s an increase in my premium not due to MY health condition!

Keith

We at least he shut his pie hole…

Keith

Those are all possible tax hikes, but none of them are taxing our net worth like Propertymanager was elluding to.

Again, the idea of having our net worth taxed regardless of income is indeed scarey. Which democrat (please call him or her out by name) has suggested this?

DUH! It’s ALL taxing my net worth! If you tax me, the money comes out of my pocket and reduces my net worth. They are all possible tax hikes because they aren’t in charge - they just think they are!

Is basic arithmetic in your arsenal? I know wretched sarcasm is…

Keith

The argument was that the tax would be based on net worth, not income. These are all on income which does affect net worth, but it’s not a tax based on net worth.

If my net worth is $1,000,000 and yours is $200,000. If we both make $100,000 this year, we both will be taxed the same in each of these cases of proposed law.

What PropertyManager Mike said, and the specific point I’m questioning, is who was the democrat who wants to tax my net worth of $1,000,000?

So, if people are going to spew words out to scare property managers across the nation, let’s at least make sure someone who reportedly said it, actually said it, other that propertymanager Mike.

dd,

I heard one of the dems say it on TV. I don’t remember which one and haven’t been able to find it with a google search. If I can find it, I will definitely post it.
