Is it possible to get a land contract on a For Sale By Ower? If so, is this somewhat like getting ower financed?
The land contract or contract for deed is in fact an owner financed tool used a lot in the past. It allowed the seller to reposses the property faster without going thru the foreclosure process. Although still legal to use new laws have made it harder to use than the standard deed to the buyer with a note and deed of trust. Investors are converting their old contracts into standard sales to avoid the new rules. I would avoid using the land contract and use the deed or a lease with option method if doing a deed is out
