Questions for an attorney

Hello all

I’m in the process of looking for a REAL ESTATE ATTORNEY. I’ll be purchasing my first set of properties soon but dont want to move ahead until I have a excellent real estate attorney on my side. For those of you who have real estate investing history under your belt, please assit me in what to LOOK AND LISTEN for when deciding on an attorney. I’m not real sure what questions to ask and I’d rather be safe than very sooorry. I live in NC near the Fayetteville area. Any information you real estate investors out there can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

COME ON YOU INVESTORS!!! I KNOW YOU ALL ARE NOT OUT THERE CONDUCTING DEALS WITHOUT AN ATTORNEY PRESENT. SOMEONE OUT THERE HAS SOME INFO. IF YOU PERSONALLY DONT HAVE ANY INFORMATION THAN MAYBE SOMEONE COULD DIRECT ME TO A WEBSITE THAT COULD ASSIT ME.

THANK YOU ALL

Contrary to your belief, I have yet to enter a real estate deal with an attorney present. I only need the attorney to conduct settlement, and that is because, like you, I live in an attorney state rather than a title company state.

I sent an email to an attorney in Winston-Salem on Saturday asking if he could handle settlement on a condo I want to buy and which I have under contract. He responded on Sunday. We will do settlement by mail.

It is not hard to get an attorney on your team. Just ask if they do real estate settlements. I use a different attorney in Charlotte.
