Question about LLC/C Corp

Not sure if this is the place to ask this question, but I don’t wanna pay $275/hour just to get a short answer. Does anyone know if LLC’s or Corporations help/allow you to keep your assets through a divorce? I plan on accumulating rentals soon, but my marriage has been on the rocks for years. I feel a divorce is inevitable, but not necessarily just over the horizon.

If the properties are held in either an LLC or Corp, will they still go through the judgement?

Thank you for any information you can offer.

Hi,

An LLC or Corporation does not have any protections when it comes to divorce, you still have to declare every asset you own and that includes owning a LLC or corporation.

An LLC or Corporation owned in whole by you as an individual, will probable be required to sell or borrow against 50% of the assets value to give the wife / husband half.

Is this another good reason to have a pre-nup?

Speaking from experience…“Hell hath no fury compared to that of a woman scorned.”

Nothing I have found will help in a divorce case EXCEPT the best attorney you can afford.

Even that will not help in the six community property states.
