Do you use your LLC’s name on your business cards along wiht your real name, or just your own name with “Real Estate Investor”, “Property Manager”, or whatever?
I use my real name, and I refer to myself as the president of my company. I know other investors that use their name as apart of their business name and its a LLC. I don’t see the logic behind why they do it. I think as long as a person uses a fictitious name and don’t refer to themselves as the owner or use their own name in their trade name, they shouldn’t have a problem within the LLC
I have both the name of my company and also my personal name and title. I favorite title of mine has always been “Managing Partner”. President or CEO or whatever sounds totally unrealistic to me, unless you operate a multimillion dollar company. Many non-real estate investment companies use “Managing Partner” for the head of their offices, so its a commmonly used title that doesn’t sound as lofty as President, but still indicates that you’re in charge.
My company name: “New Manor Investments” is also indicative of what we do, so I don’t feel it necessary to say “real estate investor” on my card, but you may feel differently. To each his own!
Thanks for the replies. I was wondering if you had multiple houses in multiple LLCs if you should just leave the LLC name off, or just pick one at random to use? Listing more than one seems a bit weird.
Yeah, I think it would be a little goofy if you have mutliple LLCs (which I do not) to list them all seperately on different cards.
Have you considered setting up an over-arching name, like a “Doing Business As” which you use for marketing purposes? then you wouldn’t have to worry about all the LLCs, just a thought…
