I own my own business and I need to know how I can make sure my family is taken care of if anything were to happen to me. I don’t want them to have to go through legal troubles because I didn’t prepare. What can I do? I have a personal will and trust through my Law Firm in San Diego, but I don’t think that covers my business. I know there are ways to protect my business, but I want to learn more. Do I need a special laywer? Or can any estate planning lawyer help?

Better you hire the services of local legal expert. I think handing over the business step by step in the safe hands of matured and reliable family member is good option. Complexities are the part of business.

What kind of business is it? Are there any hard assets within the business aka property, equipment. If the business is your knowledge and expertise then there will be less to protect.
