I go to school at a private university. There is a home across the street from my school that the school is going to tear down to build new dorms on. I met with the VP or business today and asked if I could get it under contract and maybe find an investor who wanted to move it, but he said that if they could do that they would have done it themselves. They are having trouble tearing it down because it is in the historic district and they are fighting to get rights to demolish it. Is there any way that I could make this into a deal? I'm trying to think outside of the box. The house is condemned i think and is in really bad shape. I was thinking maybe a haunted house for Halloween, but it might not be safe for people..
polishdave4re,
Glad to meet you.
This link will take you to a site that I use when selling Historic Homes and as a matter of fact this site helped sell the house displayed there.
This may give you some ideas, as I have found most buyers cannot picture the before and after. If the house you are talking about cannot be torn down because it is in the Historic District at least they can be shown what to do to keep it from being an eye sore.
