I am new to the investing world.
I found a house on foreclosures.com and am interested in making an offer on the property. The auction is supposed to be held on July 1st but I was to try to get it via short sale before then. How can I find how much the owners owe on the property and if the property has an liens against it? The home is located in Middlesex County, MASS. I checked the county registry of deeds website but couldn’t find anything on the home.

You could contact a title company that you work with on your properties. They will help you when you have a business connection with them.
You did good by checking public records.
YOu could:
check the white pages
mail a letter and see if a return address comes back
YOu do not have much time to do a short sale. You may want to just run a title search and buy the property at the sheriff sale. Some attorney’s are starting to put REO prices on at the sale!
