Postcard marketing

just a thought that i would love your opinions on…

i was thinking about making my own postcard using just a glossy 4x6 photo paper. what do you guys think?

Short term solution may not be a bad idea if you’re short on cash. But it is not a strategy you need to build your marketing around in the long term.

If doing it home, then no need for the glossy look. Just do the matte look. mentioning glossy gives me the impression that you want to add nice picture of a house or something and want it shiny. if that is true, don’t

Use a strong call to action message on the post card.

well i was just thinking of using a 4x6 glossy photo because i have like 300 of them lying around, bought them when i was planning to print alot of photo’s out but never got around to using them.
Actually I was thinking about making some nice looking postcards Lol
I made one already but i’m thinking about changing them, I would post it on here but I don’t know if it’s allowed.

sabir - you can get nice cards with envelopes at some $1 store. I buy the ones I use at DollarTree (a chain we have here). I can get 8 or 10 for $1 dollar. You will never be able to print postcards that cheap at home. The problem with my approach is that after I print the cards, I have to stick them into the envelope. :O(

But I do know that anyone receiving them will be very curious to open them… :O)

Good luck!

hm ok, well i know an investor that does seminars that sends out their letter, postcard, and business card in the same envelope. he says he sends it out every week. I asked him how many he sends he says 20,000 and it costs 1 dollar to send each one out so I was kinda stunned that he pays $20,000 a month for that.

Don’t think in terms of cost, think in terms of return on investment. If he spends $20,000, assuming an average response rate of 1%. that is 100 to 200 deals. He needs an average of $100 to $200 per deal to beak even. If he is wholesaling them on average $5000 each thats $500,000 to $1,000,000. All of a sudden, $20,000 is really not that much is it?

As far as your post card, “pretty” wins you design awards not business. You need an effective convincing message.

I use the post office website at usps.com for my post cards. It costs 31 cents to create, print and mail each card (INCLUDING POSTAGE). I usually send out 1000 for a total cost of $319.00

Its easy to create a free account, upload a postcard template and merge it with your mailing listing on the site. If I want to send out a mailing, it takes three business days from the time I hit send, and I never have to spend hours sticking stamps on cards.

Black and white postcards work just fine. As for the 300 card that you have, if it cost you less than 31 cents to print and mail them, go ahead and use them since you have already spent the money on buying them.

Good luck

I have about 13,000 templates or you can make your own, for about .31 per card not including postage.

Click2mail.com is much cheaper. But mine look better. Plus you can send greeting cards.

I don’t think this would do a lot in your campaign, as you may know already real estate properties aren’t really something “you sell by hand”.
