part-time job

I am a full-time college student(16hrs) and spend a good deal of time reading about real-estate. I know many say to find a mentor you can bird dog for and learn the ropes. I am considering geting a part-time job as a loan officer. I have seen ads for “will train part-time evenings available” etc. Does anybody think that this would be a good educational asset or not. I know it depends on a lot of factors but what are your ideas? I am also going to my first local REI club meeting, but its not for a month, i just missed it :frowning:

TIA

howdy darren,

I’m a fulltime student @ UT San Antonio, realtor and pt at chase bnk. becoming a realtor put me in the position to knw my market first hand. I read RE books for a year and a half. Just jump in and get a feel for things. You’ll be receiving commission cks and networking with other realtor/investor agents…Im actually in the position to get my first flip property. I thought about birddoggin, but became a realtor. I dont have any regrets about it. throw caution to the wind and jump in. Of course youre gonna make mistakes. Death is the only thing you should fear.

Hi TIA,

I was also thinking of doing this a while back. Since then I have joined a nationwide lender and am gaining a good amount of experience!

I Say Go For It!
