Ownership Structure?


Newbie here…

I’m planning on making my first real estate investment purchase in the next 6 months.

Right now I am geared to the thought of purchasing something like a 2, 3 or 4 plexes.

It would just be myself and/or wife as the investor.

After the first year or so…I then hope to become more aggressive with similar type purchases or with dwellings that house more units.

Can anyone please provide some insight as to “who’s name” the ownership should be under?

Are there tax incentives for structuring in a certain way…or other incentives that limit your liability?

I’ve been coming across a lot of buzzwords…and was hoping someone could cut through the thick for me on this issue.
