As you can see from my previous posts, I’m fairly new at this. So, here’s another one for ya!
Yesterday I had someone from England email me regarding my property and seems to be interested in renting. He is on assignment from his company and will lease the home for one year. He wants to be in by the 1st of this month which is fine by me. I’ve sent him an application via email for him to fax back to me…but…how do I check his credit? He wouldn’t have a social security number would he? If anyone has any experience with this please let me know! Thanks in advance!
Can you get permission from him to check with the company he is working for as far as how long he has been with them and his monthly salary? There should be a way to do a criminal background check-not sure how in England though. Graciez
In your application it should include the clause that states that you can do a credit AND background check. That’s all you need. Then you call his employer ask for personnel explain to them that you are a landlord with “John Smith” applying to rent your apt. Would they be so kind as to fax you a confirmation of employment and salary? He will give you as part of the application/background check process his tax identification number for the UK, then you can just do it that way. For that matter if you work with one mortgage broker consistently he might be able to do it for you.
