Option to Purchase Then Assign

Is this really legal? This probably a sore subject. If anyone can approach a distressed home owner, get them to sign an Option to Purchase Agreement and then I find a buyer and I sell/assign them my right to purchase the property and I make some bucks…why wouldn’t everyone do it and without a real estate license?

Why wouldn’t everyone do it? Because our society professes getting a JOB and having that “Security”.

Is it legal. Absolutely. If you are a principal in a deal, you do not need a RE License. By putting your name on a contract you are a principal. Then you have to understand that all contracts are assignable. You are selling your interest in a contract is all.
