Does anyone have a good objection handler for someone that wants to file a bk and I’m trying to have them do a short sale/ lease back? Thanks

A short sale improves their credit, and if it is a satisfaction all you are left with… worse case scenario… is owing the IRS a percentage (marginal tax rate) of the debt forgiven. A short sale improves a person’s credit.
A bankruptcy, on the other hand, provides for the debt and penalties to continue to accrue, and may very well leave the homeowner holding the bag for much larger amounts, not to mention trashing their credit.
Given the new bankruptcy laws, I can’t imagine anyone thinking a bankruptcy was a good idea.

Also, a BK doesn’t stop a foreclosure. It only postpones the inevitable. As soon as it is discharged, the foreclosure will resume, and the ex-homeowner will have a BK and a foreclosure. They won’t be able to touch a house for 7 years. That usually stops the BK objection in its tracks.
