North Carolina L/O without a realtor?

I understand N.C. is a realtor friendly state, meaning you need an agent to contract other people’s houses. Do I need a agent to lease and sublease other people’s houses? I want to lease upon the condition I find a suitable tenant buyer within 60 days or the lease is void. Can I do this? Thanks :help

You do not need an Agent’s license to buy, sell, and/or lease real estate in NC. This assumes the paperwork you use puts you squarely in the deal as a principal.

Do you live in NC?

We still have FSBO’s here, so if you’re buying directly, no agent needed (should you have one depends on your knowledge level of RE though).

I’d seriously question any advice you get from whoever told you that.

That said, you do need to be a principle in the transaction, as AJ290 said.

Can you do this? Well, you can write anything you want in an agreement. Now whether or not the other party will accept is another matter altogether as well as whether a judge would rule in your favor or not should it come to that.
