Newbie Q of the Day: Should I incorporate before wholesaling?

Do you need to incorporate before you do your first deal or can you assign a contract as an individual? What are the asset protection implications?

There should not be any asset protection implications for wholesaling. You should not own properties long enough for anyone to get hurt on them or for them to be claimed as assets in a law suit. Most contracts that are assigned are assigned by individuals. I see no reason to incorporate to wholesale properties unless there are tax benefits for you to do so.
