newbee question

Hello all:

have been looking and have a few questions as one starting again in REI:

  1. I am a wheelchair user and do want to begin - wondering if you think not being able to gain access to properties is a serious hinderance? I was thinking of using friends to view peoperties of video tape for me.
I was in the electrical construction business (10 years ago - so I do have some construction knowledge).

  2. have some money - not much but excellent credit and wondering if this too (not too much liquid cash) as a problem? I do intend to begin smaller with as liitle money doen as possible.

  3. I am assuming that joining a local REI club is indeed a good idea.

  4. Is it typical practice to go outside of the area you live (within 3 hours drive) to find RE at a more affordable price? I live in a very high priced area.

Feedback is appreciated.

Howdy Ken:

A friend of mine used to invest in RE from a wheelchair before Video phones etc. He did really well just buying and flipping to other investors including me. He was good at selling to homeowners too and carrying the paper and selling the notes to investment companies. I have not talked to him in years and would like to know how he is doing these days.

He had several other handicaps too, no money or credit or job. The driving 3 hours is hard. I am driving 1.5 hours for a week now to my 31 unit rehab and it is no picnic, but that is each day back and forth. You will not to do this each day with just owning and or wholesaling.
